The Mellor House Apartments are located in nearby Forest Hills. You’ll love the ambiance of both buildings, built in the early 1900s and located in a safe neighborhood. The nearby entrance to I-376 connects to locations like Oakland and downtown Pittsburgh.

Beautifully restored and tastefully decorated, you’ll find everything you need for your short or long-term stay is provided, including linens, towels, china, silverware, large and small appliances. All apartments are perfect for individuals, couples, and business travelers.  The two bedroom apartment is appropriate for families with children. Your Mellor House Apartment will be your home away from home!

Spacious and bright, this fully furnished apartment includes two bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and newly renovated bathroom. This apartment sleeps four with one queen-sized bed and one full-sized bed. Everything you will need for your stay is provided, including linens, towels, china, silverware, large and small appliances. All utilities and WiFi access are included. Off-street parking is available. This apartment is good for individuals, couples, families with children, and business travelers.

As you enter the apartment from the front porch, the first room you enter is the spacious living room. It is furnished with a new sofa, comfortable chairs, a writing desk, side tables, and lighting. A 36″ Vizio smart television has been provided for your viewing needs. Large windows make the space bright, and all windows have white mini-blinds for privacy. The next room you enter is the dining room with seating for six, a baker’s rack, and a sideboard for storage. Bright and cheerful, this room is perfect for sitting down to a family meal or spreading out to do work in the evening.

Straight ahead is the kitchen. The cabinets are simple and white, counters are a mottled tan laminate and the floor is stained hardwood. There is a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave oven and dishwasher, as well as an electric washer and dryer. Entering the small hallway, a newly remodeled bathroom is to your right. The bathroom has a tile floor, toilet, walk-in shower, a sink with a cabinet for storage and a mirror above. A hairdryer and additional towels are stored on shelves within the bathroom for your use.

The first bedroom is on your left, featuring a comfortable, queen-size bed with The Original Mattress Factory’s ‘Orthopedic Pillow Top’ mattress and box springs. There is a closet for storage, a three-drawer dresser, bedside tables, and lamps.The second bedroom features a full-size bed also with an ‘Orthopedic Pillow Top’ mattress and box springs. There is a closet for storage, a chest of drawers, bedside table, and lamps. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, and the windows can be opened for ventilation.


Mellor House 2

These beautifully restored and updated, fully furnished apartments include one bedroom, a spacious living room, eat-in kitchen, and newly renovated bathroom. These apartments sleep two with one queen-sized bed. The Garden View Apartment features an eat-in kitchen, bedroom, and newly renovated bathroom. It sleeps two with one full-sized bed. All apartments are appropriate for individuals, couples, and business travelers (adults only).

Apartment # 1

As you enter the apartment from a lovely common area featuring brass sconces and a chandelier, the first room to your right is a private bathroom. The bathroom has a stained hardwood floor, toilet, tub, shower head with hand sprayer and a small pedestal sink with a mirror above. A hairdryer and additional towels are stored on shelves within the bathroom for your use.

The next room you enter is the large kitchen. The cabinets are simple and white, counters are a mottled tan laminate and the floor is stained hardwood. Large windows make the space bright, although all windows have 2” white blinds for privacy. There is a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave oven and dishwasher, as well as an electric washer/dryer combination. The kitchen is fully equipped with towels, hot pads, pots and pans, dishes, glassware and flatware along with small appliances such as a coffee pot, hot air popcorn popper, toaster and a water filter pitcher. A few days supply of dishwasher detergent, dish soap, laundry soap, etc. are included for your convenience. Canisters are filled with popcorn, flour, sugar and coffee.

Beyond the kitchen lies the living room. It is furnished with a new sofa, comfy chair, side tables and lighting. The ottoman provides storage, containing extra sheets and blankets. A 36″ Vizio smart television has been provided for your viewing needs; use of an HDMI cable is required to connect to a computer. Each apartment is individually climate-controlled with a thermostat, as well.

The last room you will enter is the bedroom, featuring a comfortable, queen size bed with The Original Mattress Factory’s ‘Orthopedic Pillow Top’ mattress and box springs. There is a closet for storage and clothes, a three drawer dresser, bedside tables and lamps. An attractive fireplace mantel, original to the building, adds visual interest. In the corner is a slipper chair, and at the foot of the bed is an ottoman for extra storage. The big front window lets in lots of light, and the smaller, side window can be opened for ventilation.


Apartment # 2

Enter the first floor foyer and ascend the steps to your right. The prints of leaves in fall hues were created by Kate’s niece, and the brass sconce on the second floor landing originally hung in her parents’ dining room. As you enter the apartment, the first room to your right is a private bathroom. The bathroom has a mosaic tile floor, toilet, tub, shower head with hand sprayer and a small pedestal sink with antique mirror above. A hairdryer and additional towels are stored on shelves within the bathroom, for your use.

The next room you enter is the large kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are simple and white, counters are a mottled tan laminate and the floor is wood. Large windows make the space bright, although all windows have 2” white blinds for privacy. As you enter the building from the first floor foyer, you will descend the stairs through a door on the right. A bright light, programmed to stay lit 24/7, illuminates the stairway. You will pass the door to the laundry room located on the left side. Within the laundry room, there is a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board available for your use.

The first room you enter in the apartment is the eat-in kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are golden oak, counters are a mottled tan laminate and the vinyl flooring is an attractive complementary color. The large windows make the space bright, and all windows have 2” wood blinds for privacy. There is a refrigerator, gas stove/oven and a microwave. The kitchen is fully equipped with towels, hot pads, pots and pans, dishes, glassware and flatware along with small appliances such as a coffee pot, hot air popcorn popper, toaster and a water filter pitcher. There are also filled canisters with popcorn, flour, sugar and coffee.

The next room you enter is the living/sleeping area, which features a comfortable full-size bed with The Original Mattress Factory’s Orthopedic Pillow Top mattress and box springs. The coverlet is a bright, cotton quilt in shades of burgundy, tan and cream. Underneath the bed are drawers for storage. There is a closet, a tall dresser, side tables with lamps, and two comfy chairs. Two windows let in lots of light and can be opened for ventilation.

The bathroom has matching vinyl flooring, a tub, shower, a small white vanity sink with mirror above, shelves and toilet. A hairdryer and additional towels are stored within the bathroom, for your use. A small frosted window lets in light and can be opened for ventilation.
